The Leadership Training Institute (LTI) is a broad-based curriculum that enhances professional development potential and ability of NIAAA members in order to improve job performance. Each course in the program addresses specific topics on athletic administration.

Objectives of Leadership Training:
  1. To provide knowledge to improve professionalism in the field of athletic administration.

  2. To develop a leadership pool for involvement in the NIAAA and member state athletic administrators associations.

  3. To help candidates prepare for the Certified Athletic Administrator exam.

Note: When registering for LTI courses that are listed below, please refer to the conference schedule under the Schedule tab for any conflicts of previously assigned duties, i.e., voting delegate to Delegate Assembly, committee meeting, etc.

Leadership Training Conference Rules

Due to the demand of LTI courses, we have created guidelines for registration, including cancellation and course transfers.

​

  1. In order to register for an LTI course, you must purchase the 2020 NADC Registration.

  2. Conference and LTI course registration ends Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

  3. Registration and LTI courses must be paid in full by Friday, December 4, 2020. If payment is not received by December 4, the courses will be removed from the attendee’s registration.

  4. Modifications of courses can be made online until December 4, 2020. Please review your LTI course selections before Friday, December 4, 2020 to ensure you are enrolled in the correct LTI course(s).

Cancellations / Late Attendees / No-Shows
  1. There will be no refund for cancelled LTI Courses. Until December 4, 2020, you will be able to switch to another course by modifying your registration. Please contact the NIAAA office with any questions.

  2. Only attendees that pre-registered for LTI courses will be admitted to the course. The registrants must be on the course roster in order to enter the meeting.

  3. Individuals who fail to attend a course or are late by more than 15 minutes will not receive a refund. Credit will not be given for any course that is missed.

Course Credit
  1. Credit for LTI courses: Upon course completion, attendees will receive instructions to take a course evaluation. Once the evaluation is complete, and attendance has been verified, credit will be applied to the attendee's transcript in the NIAAA member portal.

  2. Individuals who fail to attend a course or are late by more than 15 minutes will not receive a refund or course credit.

  3. Credit will not be given if an attendee is more than 15 minutes late after the start of the course or leaves the course at any time prior to completion.

  4. Manuals will not be given to those who do not attend the course.

Proof of Attendance

In order to verify course attendance, all attendees must display their first and last name in the participant box during the meeting and have their camera on for the entirety of the course.

Acknowledgment of Course Completion

Upon verification of attendance in the course, an acknowledgment of course completion will be available for each course attended in the Professional Development section of the member profile.

CAA & CIAA Application Process

Application for CAA & CIAA must be submitted to the NIAAA office by November 23, 2020.

All approved applicants will receive an email upon their approval with instructions on how to schedule their exam. All exams must take place between December 16-21, 2020.

Objectives

Within the field of secondary school athletic administration, this certification program intends:

  • To promote professional standards, practices and ethics

  • To encourage self-assessment by offering guidelines for achievement

  • To improve performance by encouraging participation in a continuing program of professional growth and development

  • To identify levels of educational training essential for effective school administration

  • To foster professional contributions to the field

  • To maximize the benefits received by the school community from the leadership provided by certified athletic administrators

Thirty-six workshop topics have been identified for six workshop sessions. All workshop sessions will be one hour in length. Each session will feature several topic choices for attendees. Workshops will be available to view after the live conference concludes.
